Co-Polyester (Co-PES)
A very good laundry resistance and an excellent adhesion to synthetic fibres are the outstanding properties of abifor® Co-Polyester.
These properties together with melting ranges between 90-140°C makes Co-PES as a perfect hot-melt product for the garment industry. Especially for ladies wear and blouses where moderate bonding conditions and a good adhesion to the synthetic shell fabrics are required.
Contrasting to Co-Polyamides the resistance of Co-PES to solvents like in the dry cleaning process are lower or limited.
A main application of Co-Polyester-powder is the paste coating of non wovens in combination with paste additives and other components (abifor 2004, 2005, 2006).
In case of woven interlinings powder point coating is mostly used.
In case of technical applications like laminations with foams, the Co-PES-powder applied with scatter coating are showing their excellent adhesion properties.
